Tables

Table to Markdown, HTML or CSV

Copy a range from your spreadsheet or paste a CSV, and get a tidy Markdown table for a wiki or README, or an HTML table for a website or an email. A Markdown table goes back to CSV too.

How it works

Table to Markdown in three steps

  1. Paste your table

Rows from Excel, a CSV or a Markdown table.

  2. Choose the shape

Markdown, HTML, CSV or tab-separated text.

  3. Take the result

Copy or download it; tab text pastes straight back into a spreadsheet.

Questions

Good to know

  • Why are some columns on the right?

Rekenblad right-aligns a column that holds only numbers, as a spreadsheet does, so the units line up. Choose left or right to decide yourself.

  • What happens to a | in a cell?

In Markdown it gets a backslash in front so it does not break the table. Read back, it becomes a plain | again.

  • Is my table sent to a server?

No. Everything happens in your own browser.
